Carter Wiles

Carter Wiles is the Director of Finance at Ascentis, where he leads financial operations, M&A, and capital strategy across the platform. In addition to managing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm—including reporting, planning, and forecasting—Carter owns the end-to-end execution of Ascentis’ acquisition activity, from financial modeling and diligence through structuring and post-close integration. He also partners with senior leadership to shape the financial framework behind the firm’s long-term growth plan and capital strategy.

Carter joined Ascentis from WealthShield, where he spent more than five years on the research team under Clint Sorenson, focused on quantitative investment research and tactical asset management strategies.

Carter earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting and a Master of Science in Mathematical Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Business Honors Program and served as Chief Administrator of the UNCC Student Managed Investment Fund.

Outside of work, Carter is an avid learner and disciplined competitor who values personal growth and perseverance. He is an Eagle Scout, enjoys playing guitar, training for marathons, and spending time reading.
